I am Dr Momena Begum, a paediatric haematologist oncologist specialising in all types of child oncological and haematological (thalassaemia, anaemia, haemophilia, ITP & others) treatment and an expert in child palliative care & cancer pain management. 
I did MBBS at MAG Osmani Medical College, Sylhet, and then did MD in Paediatric Haematology & Oncology at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU). 
I also did a fellowship in palliative care at the Institute of Palliative Medicine (IPM), Kerala, India, in 2020. Also did advanced training in child palliative care from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India, and MNJ Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Hyderabad, India. 
I also completed 3 months of advanced training in paediatric oncology, haemophilia and in immunophenotyping from South Korea in 2022.
I started my career as a medical officer in the paediatric department in BSMMU in 2006 and actively worked in the paediatric haematology & oncology department from 2008, as my wish was to become a paediatric haematologist & oncologist. 
For the last 15 years I have dealt with children suffering from cancer and blood disorders like thalassaemia, haemophilia, anaemia, ITP and other blood-related disorders. 
I am an expert in the management of children suffering from severe pain and end-of-life care.
Currently I am an assistant professor in the paediatric haematology & oncology department of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) (PG Hospital) and a post-graduate teacher of BMU. 
As a postgraduate teacher of BMU, I developed skilled manpower regarding this subject.
I am affiliated with different national and international societies, such as the Bangladesh Paediatric Association, the Paediatric Haematology & Oncology Society of Bangladesh, the International Society of Paediatric Oncology, the International Children Palliative Care Network, Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care, and the American Society of Children Oncology.
I have published research works in national and international journals. I got the best oncology presenter award at the Ist NCD congress, organised by icddrb, and recently (my 3 scientific papers were accepted at the SIOP 55th congress in Canada, and I got an award and scholarship).
Previously, my scientific papers were accepted at different congresses in many countries, and I presented papers in Hong Kong (2013), Canada (2014), Russia (2016), the USA (2017), Japan (2018), Kerala, India (2020), South Korea (2022), Abu Dhabi (2023), and Canada (2023). 
In January 2023 I was invited as a speaker at the 5th Emirates Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Congress in Abu Dhabi, UAE, & also as a session chair at the 2nd Emirates Bone Marrow Transplant Congress in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in October 2023. Also, two article presentations were at the SIOP 55th Congress in Canada, October 2023, and one of them got an award.
